KCHS wants to ensure that our customers are provided with assistance by individuals who are pairpre-qualified" in terms of background, professional capabilities and citizen status. Our screening process is complex, thorough and designed specifically for use with healthcare personnel.

1. Credentialing: comprehensive verification is used for all employees’ files. KCHS verifies all state issued licensing with the licensing boards. In addition, we verify education, certifications or state issued certificates for all specialties.

2. Comprehensive Background Screening: 7 years + background screening including county, state and national. Our vendor also screens for the following: OIG/GSA and SSN Trace.

3. Skills Testing/Competencies: Our 3rd party web based software uses validated content to help ensure we are assessing proficiency using the most up to date healthcare standards available. All skills checklist content is re-validated annually to ensure quality and relevancy.

4. KCHS requires 2 professional references for all employees. If work history does not allow in a situation such as a new or recent graduate, we require 2 references from teachers, clinicians or supervisors from any clinical setting.

5. KCHS uses E-Verify through the Department of Homeland Security to verify all employees' work authorization in the U.S.

6. KCHS requires all employees to sign an Employee Confidentiality Statement for each facility they are contracted with and are trained and instructed on the confidentiality provisions of the Medical Record Security and Privacy Regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) or any other applicable patient confidentiality laws.

7. SuccessCheck: Honesty and Integrity Test, and Cognitive and Attitude Test. These tests are administered via computer and assists in evaluating candidates in the areas of: ability to take direction from others, stress handling, detail handling, leadership, problem solving, general reasoning, organizational skills, extroversion, stability, team orientation and social desirability.
